The Heart of Downtown and Wilshire Avenue Community Church host an annual fundraising golf tournament each year to raise awareness, money, and support for the food co-op's operations. Participating in the tournament is just one way to get involved in helping alleviate hunger and improve the quality of life for hundreds of individuals and families in Fullerton, CA and the surrounding community. The 7th Annual Golf Tournament will be held in November of 2014, with the date TBA. Please check back here or at www.wilshireave.com for more information regarding the golf tournament.
Proceeds of the tournament directly benefit the Heart of Downtown Food Co-op. Now, more than ever, there is a rising need to assist these low-income families and children to help fight hunger and fill lives with the hope of a better future.
Food is donated by local grocery stores, local churches, businesses, and private individuals throughout Orange County. The office at Wilshire Avenue Community Church at 212 E. Wilshire Ave., Fullerton, CA 92832 does accept donations of canned food items. We are always in need of peanut butter, jelly, canned meats, pasta, pasta sauce, and cereal.
Along with the basic grocery staples, there is also a need to purchase fresh produce, meats, and dairy when the opportunity arises. All financial contributions are tax-deductible. You can easily donate through PayPal online below:
The contributions received are critical for the Heart of Downtown Food Bank. Without the financial blessings and prayer of good people, this essential service would not be able to assist families who, for various reasons have trouble keeping nutritious food in their household. These reasons may be due to the loss of a job, temporary layoffs, and other factors that contribute to food insufficiency.
